SPECIFIC DUTIES
  • Production of precise travel plans for company executives and timetables for employee gatherings
  • Organizing meetings, reserving accommodations, and making plans for refreshments
  • Organizing postal sorting mail and responding to generic information emails.
    Assisting with event planning and coordination, including culinary arrangements
  • Draft, format, and print relevant documents
  • Keeping track of inventory and scheduling orders for office supplies as needed
  • Interaction with company directors on a regular basis, assisting them with their requests
  • Creating agendas and taking minutes at meetings
  • Managing incoming mail and keeping track of special delivery
  • Making photocopies and filing
  • Attending workshops and conferences when requested
  • Supporting website functions and updating social media profiles on occasion
REQUIREMENTS

The Marketing and Communications Officer will oversee developing and implementing a marketing strategy to increase the presence of Venture Valley and its activities in the national and international ecosystem.

The officer will also assist the internal team with annual planning initiatives, such as coordinating and communicating for any external community events, technology conferences, hackathons, and other ecosystem activities.

In addition, the officer will handle national and international projects. The officer will be asked to perform hospitality activities such as meeting residents and managing events, often at unsociable hours.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

We’re looking for a passionate Marketing Officer to plan and manage the company’s marketing activities and campaigns. You’ll be the one in charge of ensuring that all marketing operations achieve management’s objectives.

A successful marketing officer must have a strong passion for marketing and a thorough understanding of applicable strategies and principles. The ideal applicant will also be a strong communicator with expertise managing various marketing initiatives.

The goal is to ensure that the company’s marketing efforts add the most value to its operations.

SPECIFIC DUTIES
  • Assist in the implementation of marketing plan
  • Assist the management team in managing the activities of the department
  • Organize and attend marketing activities or events to raise brand awareness
  • Plan product or service advertising and promotion strategies across a variety of media (social, print etc.)
  • Liaise with stakeholders and vendors to ensure that activities are successful, and that the company’s presence is increased
  • See all ventures through to completion and assess their success using various metrics
  • Prepare contents for marketing materials to be published and oversee distribution
    Conduct market research to find promotion and growth opportunities
    Work with managers to prepare budgets and maintain track of spending
REQUIREMENTS
  • BSc/BA in Marketing, Business Administration or relevant field
  • Solid knowledge of marketing techniques and principles
  • Good understanding of market research techniques, statistical and data analysis methods

We are looking for a Start-Up Mentor who is experienced in business and wishes to assist others with getting their ideas for a company off the ground. The role is to assists young, entrepreneurial, or aspirational people who have a concept or idea for a business by helping them make it a deliverable reality.

  • High proficiency level and knowledge in all aspects of business creation
  • Thorough understanding of business management and organisation
  • Be an articulate presenter
  • Have a strong understanding of teaching skills and ability to form one-to-one coaching strategies
  • Have strong understanding of sales and marketing strategies
  • Understand the legislative framework for new business start-ups
  • Be empathetic to young and aspirational people
  • Enjoy working in a benevolent capacity
WHAT YOU WILL DO

The role involves a great deal of work with young people and entrepreneurs, people who have a lot of big ideas and dynamics, but who may lack skills in putting their concept into practice. The mentor will help them write a business plan, go through their marketing strategy, help them set up a method of accounting and advertising, and assist them with presenting their idea to venture capitalists who are looking to invest in exciting new business opportunities.

SPECIFIC DUTIES
  • Help the entrepreneur to produce a credible business plan and marketing plan
  • Show the entrepreneur how to conduct engaging presentations
  • Teach the entrepreneur how to balance positive cash flow and maintain accounts
  • Assist the entrepreneur with finding a financial backer and getting the product to market
  • Provide information on material and seminars which may be of use to the entrepreneur
REQUIREMENTS

There are no formal qualifications required to become a Start-Up Mentor, although fairly obviously, the candidate must be successful entrepreneurs who have launched at startup and have raised and secured some investment rounds in the past.

As the young and idealistic entrepreneurs are seeking advice, it is essential that the mentor is sufficiently equipped in terms of knowledge and experience.
